Half Fare Travelcard
What is it?
Often on the move, but not always on the road? Then the Half Fare Travelcard is for you. An ideal solution for regular travellers. Its main advantage? Half price on all tickets, on Mobilis day passes but also on most Swiss routes, whether by rail, road or lake.
How much does it cost?
Here are the rates:
1st purchase of a half-fare card: CHF 190.-
Renewal without interruption: CHF 170.-
Cancellation
When buying a Half Fare Travelcard you take out an indefinite contract. The advantage is that your travelcard is automatically renewed when your year-long validity period comes to an end. Your SwissPass card is valid for several years and your Half Fare Travelcard remains activated on the same card.
Important: we will remind you of the possible cancellation deadline well ahead of the automatic renewal.
When and where is it valid?
With the Half Fare Travelcard, you can benefit from half-price reductions on all Mobilis and CFF tickets and daycards.
The only exception is short journeys, where the half-fare discount is less than 50%. Why is that? Because for such short journeys, the price of CHF 2.40 is already very low.
Junior Travelcard
What is it?
From 6 to 16 years old, young people travelling with their parents do not have to pay. Nice, isn’t it? And this applies to road, rail and lake travel in Switzerland.
In order for the Junior Travelcard to be valid, the child or young person travelling must be accompanied by a parent in possession of their own ticket.
How much does it cost?
The Junior Travelcard costs CHF 30 per year per child. And you can write the names of both parents on this card. The Junior Travelcard is free of charge for the third and any further children.
When and where is it valid?
As long as the child is accompanied by one of the two parents registered on the card, it allows you to use all VMCV lines.
Please note:
The parent accompanying the child must have a valid ticket for 1st or 2nd class. The child can then travel with them in the relevant class for free. There is also an Children’s Co-Travelcard (no family relationship required).
