VMCV control policy
Checking tickets is also part of VMCV’s mission. In order to guarantee equal treatment for all passengers, we carry out regular checks on our lines.
Our control policy is based on strict rules that guarantee the application of the Federal Law on Passenger Transport (Loi fédérale sur le transport de voyageurs, LTV), the rules of the Mobilis tariff community (T651.22) and the general passenger tariff (T600.5/695).
Mission of the Ticket Control Officers (Agents de contrôles des titres de transport, ACTT)
Ticket inspectors (hereafter: ACTT) are responsible for ensuring the validity of tickets. They are also responsible for informing and advising customers during their journey and for transport security (passengers, vehicles, infrastructure). The ACTTs are part of the Federal security bodies of public transport companies in the sense of the Federal law on security bodies of public transport companies (Loi fédérale sur les organes de sécurité des entreprises de transports publics, LOST) and have the necessary competences to check passengers, request and check identity documents.
In accordance with the LOST, ACTTs have the right to detain any person who cannot or will not prove his or her identity, as well as to exclude from transport passengers who violate the transport regulations. ACTTs regularly attend training courses related to their field of activity. In the event of refusal to comply with the orders of the ACTT, an appeal may be made to a police authority. The related costs are to be borne by the client. A criminal complaint may also be filed with the competent judicial authorities.
Ticket control
Rules to follow when travelling on VMCV lines
- Have a valid ticket before boarding the vehicle and be able to show it to the control staff on request.
- Keep your ticket throughout the journey until you leave the vehicle.
- Be able to present a valid official identity document or a Swisspass card for the control of personal tickets
- Observe transport use regulations
Please note:
If it is not possible to purchase a ticket (e.g. because of a breakdown in the ticket machine), the passenger must buy the ticket using another sales channel (SMS ticket, FAIRTIQ, CFF app). However, if they are unable to do so, they must inform the driver immediately when they enter the vehicle. Otherwise, the passenger will be considered as a person without a valid ticket.
Please note:
A flat fee (surcharge) and a supplement will be charged to passengers who cannot show a valid ticket (LTV, Art. 20). The surcharge rate varies if the ticket is partially valid or not valid at all. The amount is increased in the event of a repeat offence.
Misused tickets are immediately withdrawn.
