Reduced mobility

Travelling on the VMCV buses

How to do it?

VMCV ensures that its vehicles are accessible to all, including people with reduced mobility.

All our vehicles are adapted to accommodate wheelchairs up to a maximum size of 120 x 70 cm and a maximum weight of 300 kg.

When one of our buses arrives at your stop, please signal to the driver that you wish to board. The driver will move to deploy the access ramp to help you enter the vehicle. Tell him/her where you are going so that he/she can prepare to come and help you out of the vehicle.

Once inside the vehicle, there are spaces for wheelchairs. These are indicated by a pictogram. Your chair must be positioned in the direction indicated by the pictogram in the vehicle. It is imperative to secure your wheelchair with the brakes and then fasten it with the strap so that it does not slip or tip over when cornering.

VMCV also works closely with the local authorities through which its routes pass to ensure that the facilities at bus stops are regularly updated.

Stops not accessible to wheelchairs

From January 1st 2024, alternative transport will be offered from stops that are not accessible to people with reduced mobility, in line with the implementation of the LHand.

Stops considered non-accessible do not allow wheelchair users to access vehicles on the same level or with a ramp.

Passengers with reduced mobility wishing to travel to/from a non-accessible stop can contact the SBB Contact Center Handicap (CCH). It will organize the trip for the entire journey, using a carefully selected shuttle service.

A valid ticket is required at all times on the VMCV network. The shuttle service is free of charge.

How does it work ?

  1. Consult the list of stops not accessible to wheelchairs on this map
  2. If the desired stop is not accessible, contact Contact Center Handicap (CCH) on 0800 007 102 at least 2 hours before the planned journey
(every day from 06:00 to 23:00 - free call from Switzerland).
  3. The CCH will organize an alternative solution and confirm the journey and pick-up location.
