For several years, VMCV has been proud to be a partner of Chillon Castle. A true symbol of our region, it is the most visited historical monument in Switzerland. Every year, hundreds of thousands of visitors from near and far flock to see it.
In addition to its almost thousand-year-old architecture, the public can enjoy a variety of exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year.
The exhibition "Dissecting / Dressing Chillon"
Starting this autumn, Chillon Castle will present a new temporary exhibition titled "Dissecting/Dressing Chillon: a story told through our collections".
For this occasion, more than 400 objects will be brought out of storage from the Musée Cantonal d'Aarchéologie et d'Histoire and displayed at the Castle.
The exhibition tells the story of the castle through archaeological discoveries and other ancient treasures. It raises an intriguing question: How can we bring to life the history of a monument that is nearly a thousand years old? Should we reveal its bare architecture, layered by the centuries, or should we enrich it with objects and stories to recreate its past atmosphere?
Room by room, visitors discover how these collections were assembled, restored, and studied, offering a constantly evolving understanding of the monument.
