VMCV is pleased to be a partner of the Fort de Chillon in 2025, on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of its Museum.
The Fort
The Fort de Chillon was built in 1941, during the Second World War, carved into the rock face across from the Castle of the same name. Its main mission was to serve as a strategic defense point along Lake Geneva, protecting one of the key access routes to the heart of the Swiss Alps.
The Fort de Chillon remained operational until it was disarmed in 1995 and was later declassified as "defense secret" in 2001.
The Museum
Since 2020, the Fort de Chillon has been transformed into an interactive museum. This 2,125 m2 Super-Forteresse offers the public a fully immersive experience into the history of Swiss fortifications and a glimpse into the daily lives of the soldiers who were stationed there.
In 2025, the Museum celebrates its 5th anniversary and has many surprises in store for visitors coming to discover one of the Swiss army's best-kept secrets.
